- The current competitions as part of the MCHB/HRSA Combating Autism Act Initiative are authorized under the Combating Autism Act of 2006, Public Law No. 109-416, §SEC.399BB, 120 Stat 2821, 2823-2827 (2006). Public and nonprofit institutions of higher learning and public or private nonprofit agencies able to perform research relating to ASD and other developmental disabilities are eligible. For program purpose, only public and nonprofit institutions of higher learning and public or private nonprofit agencies engaged in research relating to ASD and other developmental disabilities are eligible. If otherwise eligible, faith-based and community organizations are eligible to apply.
