MWM Outreach Support, Evaluation and Assessment Program: Materials World Modules (MWM) Outreach Program is designed to attract middle and high school students to a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The program was designed by Northwestern University under a NSF Grant using materials science in a hands-on inquiry based teaching method. This three (3) year grant (FY06-09) will support and evaluate the deployment of MWM. Proposals should address all of the six areas of interest: (1) Support the deployment of MWM in Maryland, New Mexico and New Jersey; (2) To establish an effective evaluation model and techniques for assessing the effectiveness of MWM when deployed to large numbers of schools and school districts; (3) To develop concepts and tests on applying distance learning and gaming to MWM; (4) Provide Training and Marketing Videos, (5) To provide staff support to Picatinny for MWM and (6) To support the alignment of MWM with other DoD educational outreach activities.
