- DARPA is soliciting innovative multidisciplinary research proposals to develop and demonstrate the capability to develop and fabricate structural materials with radically superior properties than can currently be achieved through architectural control at the appropriate microstructural scales. The Materials with Controlled Microstructural Architecture (MCMA) program seeks the development and demonstration of technologies that will result in structural materials design and fabrication methodologies that are ultimately based on validated architectural design principles at the microstructural level to achieve their superior properties.
