- Grant Description
- Purpose. The purpose of this funding opportunity is to increase the diversity of the mental health research workforce. It will enable qualified doctoral candidates to pursue research careers in any area relevant to the research mission of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). These awards are available to US citizens or permanent residents who are predoctoral students advanced to candidacy in accredited research doctoral programs in the United States (including Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories or possessions). Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Dissertation Research Grant (R36) award mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
