Migratory Bird Monitoring, Assessment and Conservation: THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO "FULL ANNOUNCEMENT" ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. This Notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to Manomet, Inc., under authority of CFDA 15.655 and the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act of 1980, as amended in 1988. The Service proposes to provide financial assistance in helping improve data management capability for the International Shorebird Survey (ISS). Enhancing the usefulness of data collected through the ISS is a high priority data management need for shorebirds. ISS data are used for conservation and management initiatives during shorebird migration. The long time series of ISS data will allow on-the-ground managers and policy-level administrators to evaluate potential conservation actions needed to be taken in response to changing climate. The purpose of this project is to increase the utility of the ISS for making shorebird management and conservation decisions within the South Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative. Period of performance is from date of the award to September 12, 2012. Estimated award is $198,000.00. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505DM2, paragraph 2.14 (B) (2) is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Questions concerning this announcement should be directed to Brad Andres, (303) 275-2324 or Janice McNeill (404) 679-4056, by email at [email protected].
