- An eligible applicant for this funding opportunity must, as of the date of its application, be an accredited SBDC, be funded as a Lead Center by SBA, and provide services within one of the areas that experienced a net job loss as a result of the 2005 BRAC. An application submitted by an entity that does not satisfy each of these requirements will not be accepted or evaluated. The areas that experienced a net job loss as a result of the 2005 BRAC are identified below: Alaska Arizona California (Yuba County) Connecticut Idaho Kentucky Louisiana Maine Mississippi New Jersey New Mexico North Dakota Pennsylvania South Dakota Wisconsin NOTE: Although other areas experienced job losses as a result of the 2005 BRAC, those losses were offset by other job gains. As such, those areas did not experience a net job loss and therefore do not qualify under this Announcement.

- Program Announcement No. OSBDC-2010-04U.S. Small Business Administration / Office of Small Business Development Centers (OSBDC)OPENING DATE: October 19, 2009CLOSING DATE: November 16, 2009The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) plans to issue Program Announcement No. OSBDC-2010-04 to invite application from existing SBDC recipient organization currently funded under the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program as authorized by the Small Business Act, (15 USC § 648(a)(6)(C)). Applicants will provide defense economic transition assistance for small businesses in areas negatively impacted by the 2005 BRACThe SBDC program is the SBA's largest matching grant-funded service delivery network providing high quality business and economic development assistance to small businesses and nascent entrepreneurs in order to promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and management improvement. The SBDCs, in partnership with SBA's Office of Small Business Development Centers (OSBDC) and SBA District Offices, develop programs and provide business management and other services that enhance the economic development goals and objectives of SBA and their other respective state and local funding partners. The SBDC program is a broad-based system of assistance for the small business community that links the resources of Federal, state, and local governments with those of the educational community and the private sector.
