Additional Information on Eligibility
This is a notice of intent to award Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) up to $760,226 under justification 505DM2.14(B4). The Water Resources Development Act of 1976, Public Law 94-587 and Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, 16 U.S.C. 661-666 authorizes and directs the US Fish & Wildlife Service, Lower Snake River Compensation Plan Office (LSRCP) to work with other State and Federal agencies, Indian tribes to develop and implement a program to evaluate survival and harvest of fish release on the lower Snake River. ODFW is uniquely qualified as they manage the LSRCP facilities in the state of Oregon.
Grant Description
Facilitate the cooperation of the US Fish & Wildlife Service, Lower Snake River Compensation Plan Office (LSRCP) and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) in accomplishing the purposes and objectives of the LSRCP within the state of Oregon. It provides for specified interchange of services, personnel, equipment, facilities and funds in order to accomplish LSRCP objectives through monitoring and evaluating: 1. Salmon and steelhead production and distribution from LSRCP facilities in Oregon; 2. Adult salmon and steelhead returning to Oregon which were produced at LSRCP facilites in past years; and 3. Wild or natural salmon and steelhead stocks (and their habitats) which have or will have an effect on achieving the LSRCP program objectives.
