Monitoring of Endangered American Marten in the Apostle Islands NL: The Recipient is a member of the (Northern Great Lakes CESU Master Agreement Recipient) who was awarded a Master Cooperative Agreement (P12AC31164) allowing (University of Wisconsin, Madison) to participate in specific tasks, and can provide the necessary activities involved in this particular task while providing an effective outcome for NPS and the objectives of this research/educational project. This is a continuation and expansion of previous work conducted by UW-Madison. The research team for this project has extensive experience with remove cameras, marten research including genetic analysis, and working on the remote Apostle Islands. The project will use a combination of remote cameras, DNA analysis and small mammal surveys to enhance our understanding of marten within the park.
