Mount Rainier Historical Landscape Architect SCA Intern: This task agreement will provide for one Historical Landscape Architect Intern at Mount Rainier National Park (MORA) to perform the following:

• Use computer and research skills to generate at least three sets of graphic plans that will guide maintenance staff in work done in campgrounds.
• Candidate will assist park staff in the creation of a Cultural Landscape Inventory; both creation and database entry.
• All work will be performed in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties under the guidance of Mount Rainier National Park’s Historical Landscape Architect, who meets the professional qualification standards established by 36 CFR, part 61.

This task agreement addresses the public purpose of engaging and educating youth in the stewardship of their National Parks. Education through experience is one of the prime components of these SCA positions. MORA will acquaint our interns with wilderness, historic preservation in parks, resource management policies, road and structure construction, and interdisciplinary/interagency teamwork. In addition, MORA will provide the SCA intern with opportunities to work with other than their assigned work groups to broaden their exposure to the careers offered in the National Park Service. The primary objective of this Task Agreement is to support youth development opportunities in the National Park Service through volunteer service and leadership experience at Mount Rainier National Park.
