Muir Woods Shuttle: The objective of this Task Agreement is to provide public transit service to Muir Woods National Monument, a park unit of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. To meet this need Marin Transit and GGNRA would continue serving the site with Marin Transit¿s Route 66/66F. The costs of the service would be evenly split between the two agencies. The shuttle would not only serve the goal of providing service to Muir Woods, reducing vehicle trips and providing access to transit dependent visitors, but would also integrate the shuttle into the current public transportation options in the area. Route 66 provides service between the Tam Junction area (US101/SR1 interchange) with Muir Woods. Route 66F provides service between Sausalito, Marin City, and Muir Woods.
Integrating the service with the current Route 66 operations requires the service to be available to all members of the general public and requires all applicable federal and state laws and regulations to be followed that apply to public transit providers.
