Grant Description
Purpose. This Funding Opportunity Announcement FOA issued by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, National Institutes of Health, solicits grant applications from institutions/ organizations that propose to confirm and characterize the genetic associations for type 2 diabetes identified from Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) studies in multiple ethnic groups that make up the United States population. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the U01 Cooperative agreement grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The total amount of funding that the NIDDK expects to award through this announcement is $20 million over 5 years.It is anticipated that 5 - 6 awards will be made under this RFA.
