NCPE interns at National Capital Regional Office Mod #2: Background – Cooperative Agreement Number P17AC00225 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and The National Council for Preservation Education (NCPE) for the purpose of providing training opportunities toqualified undergraduate and graduate students in academic programs in historic preservation and related disciplines, allowing them to learn about and contribute to historic preservation at the Federal level by assisting with short-term projects designed topreserve and manage historic and cultural resources. Unless otherwise specified herein, the terms and conditions as stated in the Cooperative Agreement will apply to this Task Agreement.The typical 400-hour NCPE student internships positions for the National Capital Region support the following areas of cultural resource management: Cultural Landscapes Program, History Program, Museum Program, National Historic Landmark Program, Archeology Program and Historic Structures Program. Duties may include archeological, architectural or landscape surveys; historical researchand resource documentation; technical writing and publication development; artifact and records cataloging, conservation and management; database and Web page creation and maintenance; and hands-on condition assessment and repair of historic structures.
