- Grant Description
- The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is the research, development, and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice and a component of the Office of Justice Programs (OJP). NIJ provides objective, independent, evidence-based knowledge and tools to enhance the administration of justice and public safety. NIJ solicits proposals to inform its search for the knowledge and tools to guide policy and practice. NIJ requests proposals to conduct research on transnational crime. Transnational crimes are those that violate the laws and affect the interests of more than one country. NIJ seeks research proposals to develop and analyze information and empirical data having clear implications for criminal justice policy and practice at the Federal, State, or local levels in the following focus areas: electronic crime, Internet and related fraud, trafficking of human beings, illegal trafficking of goods, intellectual property theft, smuggling of natural resources and antiquities, organized crime, corruption, or money laundering.
