NIJ is particularly interested in research and evaluation on staff-on-inmate sexual misconduct. For purposes of this solicitation, correctional staff may include but are not limited to employees, contractors, volunteers, or any agency representatives. The goal of this research and evaluation is to increase understanding and advance policy and practice aimed at reducing sexual violence in correctional facilities. Applicants may refer to the following key sources of information: .The Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (Public Law 108-79). .Sexual Victimization in State and Federal Prisons Reported by Inmates, 2007 (http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/abstract/svsfpri07.htm). .Report to the Congress of the United States on the Activities of the Department of Justice in Relation to the Prison Rape Elimination Act (http://nicic.org/Downloads/PDF/Library/022893.pdf).
