- Grant Description
- Purpose. The National Library of Medicine supports research grants that advance the sciences of biomedical informatics and bioinformatics. Informatics is concerned with the optimal management of information, and in practice is usually located at the intersection of computer and information sciences with an application domain such as health care, public health, basic biomedical research or clinical translational research. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) award mechanism and runs in parallel with NLM s participation in the NIH parent research grant FOA, PA 07-070. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary. The total amount awarded and the number of awards will depend upon the numbers, quality, duration, and costs of the applications received.
