NOAA Sea Grant Aquaculture Extension and Technology Transfer 2010: NOAA Sea Grant will make available up to $4,800,000 for a national competition to fund aquaculture extension efforts for FY 2010 to FY 2012, as part of the overall plan to enhance aquaculture extension (including technology transfer) to support the development of environmentally and economically sustainable ocean, coastal or Great Lakes aquaculture. This Federal Funding Opportunity includes information on application and criteria for aquaculture extension projects requesting a total of $50,000 to $300,000 in federal funding for up to a three-year period. Matching funds are required. Aquaculture extension is expected to be conducted in cooperation and partnership with state and Federal aquaculture agencies and regional management efforts. Given the anticipated amount of funding and the anticipated number and quality of extension proposals submitted, approximately 16 projects of average federal funding $300,000 are anticipated. Some projects selected in this competition may be awarded in FY 2011 or FY 2012 and funded with FY 2011 or FY 2012 funds.
