NOTICE OF INTENT: Youth Wildlife Research in Sonoran Desert Parks: A. Project Goals â¿¿To provide a â¿¿hands onâ¿ outdoor educational opportunity for youth while addressing park wildlife conservation information needs. B. Project Objectives â¿¿ a. Recruit, train, and support youth citizen scientists for a field program on wildlife research on six U.S. national parks in Arizona and New Mexico. b. Deploy remote automated wildlife cameras to long-term monitoring locations within these parks, with the goal of supporting park monitoring and management efforts. c. Provide a unique field educational experience to area youth, connecting them with parks, park resources, and introducing them to the wildlife biology career field. d. Incorporate wildlife research results into the overall park resource monitoring efforts. e. Integrate the final products into the overall park interpretive offerings to the public.
