- CDC's Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, "National Environmental Medicine Education and Consultation Project (NEMECP)." Approximately $150,000 will be available in fiscal year 2009 to fund one award. The purpose of this announcement is to provide nationally recognized experts to build competencies in environmental and toxicological medicine through delivery of professional education and clinical consultation to primary care practitioners and other environmental public health professionals, state and local departments of health, tribal governments, federal officials, emergency response personnel, and those individuals, families, and populations impacted by exposure to hazardous substance and other environmental health disease threats.
