Eligible Applicants Assistance will be provided only to NAPHSIS. NAPHSIS is the appropriate and only qualified organization to address the activities described under this program announcement. NAPHSIS is the only organization that represents all state vital records and public health statistics offices, in part through the development of national standards to manage state vital records, statistics and public health information systems. It is the only organization with a membership consisting of all registrars from the 57 vital records jurisdictions. These registrars are the data stewards for their jurisdictions birth and death records. State vital records registrars can be located via the following link http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w.htm.

The purpose of the program is to promote collaboration among vital records, health statistics, and health information systems professionals to provide environmental and health data information to public health practitioners, policy makers, and the public.
