Grant Description
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) Fisheries Program's National Fish Passage Program is a voluntary, non-regulatory conservation assistance program that provides financial and technical assistance to remove or bypass artificial barriers that impede the movement of fish and other aquatic species and contribute to their decline. The National Fish Passage Program received $11.0 million of operational funds to implement the program in Fiscal Years 2011. The Service will implement fish passage improvement-based, cost-shared projects to protect, restore, or enhance habitats that support fish and other aquatic species and their populations. All or a portion of project funds may be transferred to partner organizations through cooperative agreements if the Service lacks the capability to implement a project. To determine eligibity of a specific project contact the REGIONAL COORDINATOR in your area. A list of Coordinators and their responsible geographical areas is attached to this announcement under the APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS.
