Grant Description
-Purpose. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), through the issuance of this program announcement, with set aside funds (PAS), seeks to facilitate the entry of beginning investigators into basic chemistry research applied to drug abuse and addiction. NIDA invites newly independent investigators to submit applications for exploratory, or pilot research projects related to NIDA s mission. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Small Research Grant (R03) award mechanism. -The R03 grant mechanism supports different types of projects including pilot and feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small, self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; and development of new research technology.
