National Ocean Sciences Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Facility: The Division of Ocean Sciences (OCE) at the National Science Foundation (NSF) funds numerous research programs that collect environmental samples. Each year, thousands of these samples require analyses of environmental-level 14C abundances to determine the age of the samples. Sample types include sea water and a wide variety of other carbon-bearing materials. In order to process these samples and to provide research on new methods for 14C dating of oceanography-related samples, OCE supports the National Ocean Sciences Accelerator Mass Spectrometer (NOSAMS) facility. This solicitation seeks proposals to operate NOSAMS and provide necessary services to the ocean sciences research community.
