National SIDS Infant Death Resource Center: The purpose of this program is to support a national information and education resource library for Sudden Infant Death/Other Infant Death (SIDS/ID) to help meet the changing needs of professionals, families with children, and the general public in the field of SIDS/ID. The overall goal is to use information science and information technology to identify, collect, and organize information from the SIDS/ID field that is not readily available from other information sources, and to make the information available for application by the SIDS/IDMCH community in a timely, easy-to-access manner. The SIDS/ID library is expected to conduct activities in the following areas: collection and management of SIDS/ID information; and outreach for awareness and utilization of MCH information, including maintenance of databases, bibliographies, and other information resources on a website which provides national access to key SIDS/ID-related data and information.
