- Pursuant to PWEDA, eligible applicants for and eligible recipients of EDA investment assistance include a District Organization; an Indian Tribe or a consortium of Indian Tribes; a State; a city or other political subdivision of a State, including a special purpose unit of a State or local government engaged in economic or infrastructure development activities, or a consortium of political subdivisions; an institution of higher education or a consortium of institutions of higher education; a public or private non-profit organization or association; and, as provided in section 207 of PWEDA (42 U.S.C. § 3147) for the NTA Program, a private individual or a for-profit organization. See section 3 of PWEDA (42 U.S.C. § 3122) and 13 C.F.R. § 300.3.
- Grant Description
- EDA is soliciting applications to provide technical assistance in connection with the following two (2) projects: (1) information dissemination to practitioners serving economically distressed areas; and (2) a national symposium to bring together leaders to discuss current and future trends in economic development and how to improve and implement economic development best practices. Applicants may submit applications for one or both of the projects. The information dissemination project has three (3) component tasks: (i) broadcasting of strategy telecasts; (ii) preparation and dissemination of monthly electronic newsletters; and (iii) preparation and dissemination of a quarterly magazine. Applicants must address each of these three (3) components of the information dissemination project.The national symposium project will bring together nationally-recognized leaders to discuss "whats next" in economic development and how to implement economic development best practices. Qualified applicants must submit applications for organizing, supporting, promoting, holding and reporting on the symposium. The focus of the symposium is to disseminate and share the strategies, policies and best practices of 21st century economic development.
