Nevada Migratory Bird Monitoring Project: This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the Bureau of Land Management's intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition. Cooperative migratory bird trend inventories at established transects in representative habitat types will be conducted throughout the Elko Field Office. Since, 2002 the Great Basin Bird Observatory has been measuring bird abundances and densities across the State of Nevada in thirteen distinct habitat types using standardized methods. This information has been used to provide information for priority species in regard to their distribution and local abundance in Nevada, breeding season in Nevada and a summary of habitat features that have been identified as important to their conservation in scientific studies.
