Grant Description
It is the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks intention to enter into a Task Agreement under an existing Cooperative Agreement H806408A015 with the California Conservation Corps who will provide trail crews for Sequoia National Park. The work will specifically consist of trail maintenance, trail reconstruction, and trail-associated wildlands restoration according to the 2011 trail maintenance plan for Sequoia National Park. Specifically: do annual trail maintenance on 14 miles of trail; rehabilitating the storm-damaged Tar Gap Trail; reconstruct failed trail structures in the Mineral King front-country area; reconstruct the trail segment of the Atwell / Hockett trail between Clove Creek and Hockett Meadow. This agreement is in the spirit of the Secretary of Interior's Engaging Youth Program. This award is in accordance with the Department of Interior Policy, 505 DMZ.
