Additional Information on Eligibility: OJJDP invites applications from public agencies (including state agencies, units of local government, public school systems, universities and colleges, federally-recognized Indian tribal governments (as determined by the Secretary of the Interior and published in the Federal Register)), private organizations (including faith-based, tribal and community organizations), and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher learning), and individuals with experience providing training and technical assistance in Indian country.
Grant Description: Tribal Youth Program Training and Technical Assistance provides training and technical assistance to the grantees of OJJDP's Tribal Youth Program (TYP); American Indian tribes, as defined in 25 U.S.C. 450(b)e; and Alaska Native communities (hereafter collectively referred to as tribal communities). TYP training and technical assistance is designed to help tribal communities develop comprehensive, systemic approaches that reduce juvenile delinquency, violence, and child victimization and increase public safety. The Tribal Youth Program Training and Technical Assistance program is authorized by the Department of Justice Appropriations Act, 2010, Pub. L. 111-117.
