OJJDP FY 18 Opioid Affected Youth Initiative: This program will support the Administrations priority of responding to the opioid epidemic by addressing public safety to children, youth and families impacted by opioid addiction. Category 1: Implementing Data Driven Strategies and Programs Through Strategic Partnerships will support local units of government and/or tribal governments to 1) develop multi-disciplinary working groups; 2) collect and interpret data that will assist the working group in developing strategies and programming that will be used to better coordinate efforts, and 3) implement services that will address public safety concerns, intervention, prevention and diversion services for children, youth and families directly impacted by opioid addiction. Category 2: Opioid Affected Youth Initiative Technical Assistance will fund a provider to assist Category 1 sites with data collection and interpretation, developing performance and outcome measurements, and developing tools that can assist the sites with implementing data-driven services to improve service delivery and coordination in response to the opioid epidemic.

Additional Information on Eligibility
Category 1: Implementing Data-Driven Strategies and Programs Through Strategic Partnerships. Eligible applicants are limited to states (including territories), units of local government, and federally recognized tribal governments as determined by the Secretary of the Interior. Category 2: Opioid Affected Youth Initiative Technical Assistance. Applicants are limited to nonprofit and for-profit organizations (including tribal nonprofit and for-profit organizations) and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education). For-profit organizations must forgo any profit or management fee. All recipients and subrecipients (including any for-profit organization) must forgo any profit or management fee.
