Grant Description
The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to purchase and manage Holmgren milk-vetch occupied habitat within the State Line population. This activity has been identified in the approved recovery plan for this species as a high priority task necessary for the recovery of the species. An 11.1 acre parcel of land has been identified for purchase near St. George in Washington County, Utah. The funding provided through this grant will be combined with mitigation funds held by Southern Utah Title Company to purchase and manage approximately 6.44 acres of the 11.1 acres, depending on current land values. The land will then be set aside and managed as a plant preserve. Additional funds are based on availability of funding.
