Grant Description
MMS has received funds to conduct offshore sand studies in support of coastal restoration efforts in the Gulf Coast states of Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, and Mississippi. MMS anticipates that the funds will be used to investigate available sources of Federal outer continental shelf sand that can be used to restore portions of coastal areas that were damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.
