On Board Monitoring System: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) mission is to reduce the number and severity of crashes on our Nation's Highways. The objective of the On-board Monitoring System (OBMS) is to determine whether on-board monitoring devices will reduce at-risk behavior among commercial drivers and improve driver safety performance. The project will determine if the driver's behavior will be enhanced by recording and reporting the safety critical events, followed by safety managers coaching drivers using the safety events as critical events as feedback.
