On-demand expert consultations for Kazakhstani media: The United States of America and the Republic of Kazakhstan cooperate on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues, including the support of Kazakhstan's intentions to increase journalistic professionalism and strengthen the quality of local media content. To support the interest of Kazakhstani media outlets in developing their professionalism, the Embassy of the United States has closely worked with a broad range of local media outlets to identify their prime needs in knowledge and leading technologies. In 2017, the Embassy experimented with a programming approach that matched Kazakhstani outlets with clearly defined problem statements with American experts able to help them solve those problems. On the basis of this experience, the Embassy intends to support an expanded program, which will continue this approach, offering Kazakhstani media outlets the chance to host an American expert to address their self-identified key needs. The Embassy of the United States of America is seeking applications from qualified for-profit or non-profit organizations to implement the program entitled “On-demand expert consultations for Kazakhstani media.” The program will incorporate three phases: a solicitation of problem statements from media outlets and selection of outlets chosen to participate, identification of experts with experience relevant to the selected media outlets' problem statements, and organization of in-person and virtual consultations between the experts and participating media outlets.
