Opportunity HRSA-10-277: Title VII, Section 747, of the Public Health Service Act supports projects that improve the nation's access to well trained primary care physicians by supporting primary care residency training. The Primary Care Residency Expansion Program is aimed at increasing the number of residents trained in primary care specialty - family medicine, general internal and general pediatric medicine. Funding may only be used to increase the enrollment in an accredited primary care residency program through resident stipend support. Eligible applicants include public or nonprofit private hospitals, schools of medicine or osteopathic medicine or a public or private nonprofit entity of which the Secretary has determined is capable of carrying out such grants. Applicants may request support for only one residency program/discipline per application.

Additional Information on Eligibility
Eligible applicants include public or nonprofit private hospitals, schools of medicine or osteopathic medicine, or a public or private nonprofit entity which the Secretary has determined is capable of carryout out such grants. To receive grant funds, an applicant or partner organization must be accredited as a residency training program in family medicine, general internal medicine, and/or general pediatrics by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The applicant or partner organization must provide a statement that they are accredited, and must name their accrediting body and date of accreditation for verification purposes. Submission of accreditation letter is not required.
