P15AC00503: This is a notice of intent to award to the University of Alaska Fairbanks under Master Agreement P13AC01025.
This project is part of a multi partner Coastal Settlement Project with NPS and the Smithsonian Institution. This project is the geomorphology component of the archeaology project, which will provide the information about maximum glacial extendt of McCarty Glacier. This information with inform the archeology scope of thie project in addition to providing scientific information about the maximum glacial extent for Nuka Bay to the public.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks is uniquely qualified to perform this task agreement. The scientists specialize in Coastal Geography with extensive knowledge and field experience working in remote Alaskan coastal areas.
Substantial involvement from the NPS will be field work. The NPS is providing field support, field staffing and field transportation.
