Grant Description
The National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) invites applications supporting the development of close collaborations between basic and clinical researchers focused on obesity. The goal of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to encourage productive partnerships between basic and clinical researchers to investigate the biological mechanisms controlling energy balance in humans. The ultimate goal of these investigations is to obtain the necessary knowledge of the different biological pathways regulating energy homeostasis so that new biomarkers of overweight, obesity, and associated metabolic changes can be identified, and novel therapeutic targets developed.
