Additional Information on Eligibility
(1) Non profits having a 501(c)(3) status with IRS, other than institutions of higher education and internationl organizations; and (2) International Organizations.
Grant Description
(1) Activities in Shimelba Camp, Ethiopia. Activities may include the local host population, however, NGOs should concentrate on care/maintenance activities for refugees in the camps/settlements. Proposals should focus on the following sectors: health, water and sanitation, hygiene, education, gender based violence, and psychosocial support. (2) PRM will accept proposals from any NGO that is able to satisfy these guidelines although, given our budgetary constraints, priority will be given to proposals from organizations that can demonstrate: - a working relationship with UNHCR and 2007/2008 UNHCR funding and/or support for the proposed activities and/or overall program; - a proven track record in providing proposed assistance in Ethiopia and in the sector for which funding is being requested; - evidence of coordination with the host government and other international and non-governmental organizations working in the area of activity; - appropriate targeting of beneficiaries in coordination with UNHCR, the host government, and other relevant organizations.
