PRM NGO Projects in Thailand and Malaysia: Limited funding is available to support NGOs working in coordination with UNHCR in Thailand and Malaysia in support of Burmese refugees. In Thailand, proposed activities should focus on the following priorities: nutritional assistance, water and sanitation, improving or maintaining quality healthcare services, psychosocial programming, income-generating activities, and strengthening the capacity to respond to the needs of survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). Priority locations include the following refugee camps: Ban Mae Nai Soi, Ban Mae Surin, Mae La Oon, Mae Ra Ma Luang, and Mae La. In Malaysia, proposed activities should focus on the following priorities: improving healthcare and medical services, mental health and psychosocial support, and educational opportunities for the urban Burmese refugee population in Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley. Priority will be given to proposals from organizations that can demonstrate: (1) a working relationship with UNHCR and current UNHCR funding and/or support for the proposed activities and/or overall country program; (2) a proven track record in providing proposed assistance both in the sector and specified location; (3) evidence of coordination with international organizations and other NGOs working in the same area or sector, as well as where possible, local authorities; and (4) appropriate targeting of beneficiaries in coordination with UNHCR and other relevant organizations.
