- Grant Description
- The purpose of the National Institute of Justice Research, Evaluation, and Development Projects Grants program is to encourage and support research, development, and evaluation to improve criminal justice policy and/or practice in the United States. With this solicitation, NIJ seeks applications for funding the following topics: 1. Evaluation of the efficacy of performance management information systems (PMIS) currently in use with law enforcement agencies. 2. Research on how the PMIS currently in use might be improved. 3. Research identifying how PMIS used by law enforcement agencies might be adapted to corrections applications. Each application should address only one of these three topic areas. However, an applicant may submit multiple applications, each addressing a specific topic. Authorizing Legislation: Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (sections 201 and 202); Homeland Security Act of 2002 (section 232).
