Periodontal Diseases: Microbial and Host Genomics/Proteomics: The purpose of this RFA is to stimulate research that will employ prokaryotic/eukaryotic genomic and proteomic techniques to analyze the molecular interactions that occur between oral bacteria and host cells (i.e. bacteria-bacteria, bacteria-host cell, and host cell-host cell) associated with the pathogenesis of periodontal diseases. The ultimate goal is to use this information to prevent, treat or diagnose periodontal diseases.
