Preseervation/Reserach Enhancement of Natural/Cultural Museum Collection at Death Valley National Park: A.Project Goals Museum Intern/Research Associates will complete projects related to the long term preservation and research enhancement of natural and cultural museum collections at Death Valley National Park. Intern/Research Associates will learn the basics of museum collection management while assisting curators with increasing and improving accessibility to those collections. Intern/Research Associates will also work with curators and conservators using best practices to preserve museum collections in perpetuity. Interns will assist with incorporating museum collections into interpretive exhibits, and managing research access. B.Project Objectives The visiting public, researchers, writers, film makers, and staff will have enhanced physical and digital access to museum collections. Routine and long-term preservation efforts will ensure collections are available well into the future for all appropriate public and staff use. Intern/Research Associates will be better prepared to fill professional positions of responsibility in the museum field.
