Private Lands Day 2011: "The Sand County Foundation, Inc. meets the criteria based on its 10-year efforts to establish and to communicate on a regular basis with a network of private landowners, particularly as they are located in USFWS' Regions 3 and 6. The Foundation has the logistical capacity and trackrecord for convening mutually affected parties; for conducting meetings with specific outcomes like the development of cooperative conversation plans anticipated; and for promoting, through websites and other distribution methods, the integration of private landowners with public agency conservation practitioners and long-term habitat restoration interests and public policy goals. Finally, the Foundation offers cost-sharing capability to maximize the Federal funding invested."
