Program Category 01E: Clean Cities Idle ReductionTechnologies: The goal of the U.S. Department of Energy apos;s(DOE apos;s) Clean Cities initiative isto decrease the nation?s dependence on petroleum in the transportationsectorthrough public/private Clean Cities partnerships formed around the countryby:Accelerating the development of a sustainable alternative fuels marketAccelerating the use of idle reduction technologiesAccelerating the use of hybrid vehiclesIncreasing the use of alternative fuel blends in petroleum fuelsPromoting informed consumer choice on fuel economyThis sub-opportunity seeks projects that promote the reduction and/orelimination of idling by heavy-duty vehicles and/or school buses throughtheuse of idle reduction technologies.
