Program Category 09: DER-CHP Apps Centers: The DOE and industry partners have and will continue to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in new energy efficient technologies for Combined Heat and Power (CHP), with the intent of meeting growing electrical demand with clean, reliable, and secure energy choices for heating and cooling of buildings and industrial use. The objective of the Regional Application Centers (RACs) is to provide essential and appropriate applied research and development support, focused on the technology transfer and installation of advanced CHP technologies. The Regional Application Centers achieve this objective through a strategy of project assistance and targeted education and outreach.
