- Eligible applicants under this opportunity are limited to the 50 States, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Applications must be submitted by the State Energy Office or other agency responsible for administering the State Energy Program pursuant to 10 CFR part 420, although States may work in collaboration with non-State partners.
- Grant Description
- The DOE and industry partners have and will continue to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in new energy efficient technologies for Combined Heat and Power (CHP), with the intent of meeting growing electrical demand with clean, reliable, and secure energy choices for heating and cooling of buildings and industrial use. The objective of the Regional Application Centers (RACs) is to provide essential and appropriate applied research and development support, focused on the technology transfer and installation of advanced CHP technologies. The Regional Application Centers achieve this objective through a strategy of project assistance and targeted education and outreach. The success of these Centers advances the CHP industry goal of doubling CHP installed capacity to 92 GW by 2010. See text of sub-opportunity for full description of this Program Category.
