Project I: Phase 2 of Status and ecology of Spotted Turtles: THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to The Orianne Society that will conduct Project 1: Phase 2 of Status and Ecology of Spotted Turtles. Habitat models, if accurate, will be significant in determining future land management activities and will act as a guideline for establishing protected areas for these species. In addition, we will work to determine the status and ecology of a recently petitioned ⿿At-Risk⿝ species spotted turtle (Clemmys guttata) in Georgia, a species that has declined due to habitat loss and over-collection for the pet trade.
