Some of the uses for funding include prevention and intervention, investigation and prosecution, victim services, direct treatment and continuity of services for juveniles and adults, and identification of community resources to which offenders return. States may submit one application for: 1) Protecting Inmates; 2) Safeguarding Communities; or 3) both. Special interest areas for this solicitation include a focus on female and juvenile offenders, rape in local correctional facilities, stakeholder collaboration, and faith-based and community organization support for prevention and safeguarding strategies.
