Grant Description
CDC's Procurement and Grants Office has published a funding opportunity announcement entitled, "Public Health Research on Craniofacial Malformation (U01)." Approximately $ 1,800,000 will be available in fiscal year 2010 to fund 2 awards. The purpose of this FOA is (1) to identify risk factors for the occurrence of orofacial clefts and of craniosynostosis that could lead to future prevention strategies, and (2) to better understand adverse consequences that occur in children with orofacial clefts or with craniosynostosis, including risk factors for these adverse consequences, with the goal of identifying intervention strategies to improve the health of children with these conditions.
