Public Prevention Health Fund: State Supplemental Funding for Healthy Communities, Tobacco Prevention and Control, Diabetes Prevention and Control, and Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System: These awards are to provide additional financial and programmatic assistance to strengthen the abilities of states, the District of Columbia, and eligible U.S. Territories that were funded under Funding Opportunity Announcement DP09-901 to reduce tobacco use through legislative, regulatory, and educational arenas, as well as enhance and expand the national network of tobacco cessation quitlines to significantly increase the number of tobacco users who quit each year to reduce mortality and morbidity from tobacco use, and associated health care costs
