Quality Improvement Center: The Cooperative Agreement is for the establishment of a International Quality Improvement Center. The QIC will assist in the implementation of the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. The goal of the QIC will be to provide capacity for Quality Improvement activities to improve the quality of HIV/AIDS care in HIV health care facilities to people with HIV/AIDS. To fulfill this goal, the HIV/AIDS Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration within the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services announces the availability of funds for a cooperative agreement to support a Quality Improvement Center. The selected QIC will broker, facilitate and provide training and management support as well as technical assistance for the implementation of quality improvement activities. The QIC will work in collaboration with country teams including the U. S. Government teams that include overseas missions of the United States Agency for International Development and HHS field offices in the implementation of quality improvement activities in facilities providing HIV care and treatments services among the countries receiving assistance under PEPFAR. The QIC will be part of the larger human and organizational capacity development strategy that will support PEPFAR in the same countries. The Cooperative Agreement will support the operation of the QIC and the brokering, facilitation and provision of training and management support as well as technical assistance for the implementation of quality improvement activities and the in-country quality improvement logistics and technology required for training and technical assistance.
