- Aquatic nuisance species (ANS)are non-native species that cause significant economic or environmental harm or present a threat to human health. Introductions of these aquatic invasive species have caused significant economic and ecological problems throughout North America. The Alaska Region of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service welcomes your participation in the ANS Program. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of pursuing a cooperative agreement for ANS control, assessment, or prevention, or simply receiving technical advice, the first step is to contact your local ANS coordinator. Contact information is available at: http://alaska.fws.gov/fisheries/invasive/index.htm
