Grant Description: This is for a cooperating agreement between FRA and National Research council of Canada to perform research in the area of wheel/rail interface. Such as, Study of top of the rail lubrication and effect of cold temperature and leaves on the wheel/rail interface. This will also provide funds to support FRA/Amtrak?NRC rail grinding activities. These activities will be for two years but only, the first year will be funded.
